I was born in Mexico and have a deep love for the art, architecture and culture of my ancestors. My work is a celebration of this history .

I create images that are simple and direct. Geometric design that are bold and that remind me of Mayan and Aztec culture. I love to use color combinations that speak to indigenous peoples of Mesoamerica and that speak to me. As part of these images, I use a technique that I have developed that implores the viewer to get closer and visually explore the surface of my work. The viewer is asked to change angles, distance and direction in order to see what I am thinking.
Where do you find inspiration? My memory of growing up in Mexico is the source of the work I create. The music, food and culture. The art that was all around me, the people that I grew up with and loved. All of these memories are used to form images that I then translate into designs and eventually paintings.
What would you do with $25,000?The I would use the monies to explore areas of the USA, where Mesoamerica has left its mark, where the local communities continue to be influenced by Mayan and Aztec culture, art and architecture. This exploitation would form memories that can be translated into art and design.
