Creating helps me translate motherhood, memory, and emotion into something visible. Each piece is a reflection of life unfolding.

I am most drawn to layered, mixed media work that blends painting with found or familiar elements. I love creating pieces that feel both structured and alive, where color, repetition, and form come together to suggest movement. Whether it is butterflies, birds, or objects from my children’s world, I am always chasing that balance between playfulness and intention. I want each piece to feel like it is still becoming.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the rhythms of motherhood and the details of everyday life. My three sons are at the center of it all. Their toys, their movement, their way of seeing the world. I am also drawn to nature, especially the way things gather and move together, like flocks or swarms. Memory plays a large role in my work. I am constantly pulling from moments that feel fleeting and trying to hold onto them through color, texture, and form.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest it back into my practice and community by opening a studio and workshop space for connection and creativity. It would allow me to expand into larger scale work and explore new materials, while also offering inclusive art workshops for children of all abilities. As a mother of a child with Down syndrome, creating spaces where every child feels seen and capable is deeply important to me.
