For me art is as necessary as breathing. It’s how I interpret the world around me. When I’m creating, everything else falls away.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite art medium is photography. Specifically concert and portraits. I started at 13 years old to find a passion to escape into. As most modern photographers start it began with simply taking photos on my phone whenever I saw something others didn’t. Its availability in all situations made it a safe space for me.
Where do you find inspiration?I aim to capture those that aren’t typically shown in mainstream media. People and places that some would deem “unsightly” or “strange”. I want to show that there is a place of joy and belonging for every person out there you just have to know where to look.
What would you do with $25,000?For the past 10 years I’ve woken up everyday trying to work towards by dream of being a full time photographer. Florida is a difficult place to achieve what I desire. From political boundaries and the growing distaste for anyone different I want to spread my wings and find my joyous place. The place I belong.
