I like to paint portraits that make people happy. A memory, a movie, a band that, when someone asks about it, the person is excited to talk about it. People are the most beautiful when they share the things they love.
Where do you find inspiration?My relationships. When I look at my Breakfast Club painting, I see the beginning of the best friendship anyone on earth has ever had, not the characters, but me and my best friend rewriting the script back and forth in 10th grade math. The Beatles remind me that "Here Comes The Sun" was playing when my older son was born. I love Blink182, but the painting reminds me of the friend who introduced me to their music. The subject itself is so much more than what's on the canvas.
What would you do with $25,000?Bills. I'd love to say that I'd spend it in a fun or exciting way, and to me it is, alleviating financial stress is pretty exciting to me. It's not the sexy answer people are looking for, but it's honest.
