I am a born artist whom is a trauma survivor I create art for healing those wounds to inspire those like me to create in the mist of pain.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is cultural appropriation as an indigenous person. By doing so it gives me connections to my ancestors allowing them to speak through me giving them a voice while acknowledging them and asking for permission to do the work that I do. It’s important for me to stay connected to my ancestors because of them I exist today.
Where do you find inspiration?I am an undergraduate student majoring in psychology and the studio arts to attain my BA, MA, and one day Doctrines degrees for art therapy. What inspires me is to help trauma survivors like myself to heal using art therapy as I have for myself. I found through creative outlets of all sorts of mediums such as painting, drawings, writing poetry, gourd art, photography and ceramics benefits a psychological sense of purpose within giving peace and releases emotional pain while being creative.
What would you do with $25,000?If my creator blessed me I would say it’s in honor of my brother who passed away last night April 28,2026 and use it to give him a proper memorial as well as helping me finish college.
