I’ve been creating art since I was four years old, I’m now 72 years old. ART and Design is my life!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Collage and mixed media works on paper. Abstract blind contour portraits. Art with a cause or message. Abstract drawings in pencil, oil sticks acrylic, pens, and art crayons. I like using recycled materials to create art.
Where do you find inspiration?I inspired by all traditional African textile patterns, ceremonial masks, sculpture, and utilitarian objects. Causes such as civil rights, women’s rights, gay rights, historical context inspires me. I am inspired by graphic design, typography, architecture, print media, interior design, fashion, and, interesting faces that I can use as subject abstract drawings.
What would you do with $25,000?With the $25,000 I will use part of money to rent a larger studio space. My current small studio no longer has wall space that I can use to create new works. I’d like to be able to use power tools, create sculptural works and expand my visions for future works. I need a space where I can make a mess and move around. Space is the most important thing for me right now in future of my creative endeavors.
