Samuel "SAMZIRRA" Lensen-Callas

My life has no meaning without time to create art. The work, the plan, the thought, the flicker of an idea, all wait their turn happily.

What is your favorite type of art to create?

Anything that draws the viewer in. Anything that gives them pause. Something that creates a moment of thought where they remember something they forgot long ago or feel an emotion they weren’t prepared for. If it’s a custom piece, the look on their face when they see their dream or idea brought to life in physical form tells them they were truly heard—and that they mattered to me. Those are the pieces I love to create: intimate moments that stay with you.❤️

Where do you find inspiration?

I paint using several different mediums. Sometimes I’m sitting, sometimes I’m standing—depending on whether I’m using brushes, an airbrush, or a roller. I say this because I’m always listening to music when I’m painting, creating artwork, or just living my life. These songs affect the way I move as I work. Now, after all these years, I can look back at some of my paintings and clearly remember the sounds I heard that day, the smells, and the entire vibe. Music is my inspiration—always.

What would you do with $25,000?

I am going to buy an RV, load it with art supplies, and tattoo equipment and travel across the country, with my Border Collie co-pilot Chino. Spending spree at Blick’s! BTW Blick paints were used in just about every photo I posted! Their pigments in their acrylic paints is unbeatable.
