Receive Text UpdatesCollage, one of the mediums I work with, is the closest to me, born during the isolation of Covid. Although I work with other mediums, collage became the place where I explore my vulnerability, memories, and roots with honesty. Its handmade process, created without technology, feels deeply intimate; every fragment and layer becomes a dialogue with my truest self. Through collage, I transform emotion and memory into something genuine and human.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from my Cuban roots, old books, personal memories, and the surreal inner world I have created and can immerse myself in. I am inspired by unspoken emotions and by the experience of living within a reality that can feel distant and unfamiliar. Through my work, I transform these feelings, memories, and imagined spaces into visual narratives that are intimate, honest, and deeply human.
What would you do with $25,000?Receiving this award would allow me to further invest in the growth of my artistic practice with humility and dedication. It would provide me with the opportunity to expand the reach of my work and connect with wider audiences. More importantly, this support would encourage me to continue creating honest and meaningful work rooted in personal memory, vulnerability, and human connection.
