I create art because I feel lonely in this world. I feel deeply connected to the color black and I deeply connect with photography.

My favorite type of art is photography and painting. Photography has always been interesting and I take photos of things I find interesting. Since I’ve moved to Chicago in 2024, I’ve taken about 15,000 photos that first started with my phone, I barely got my first camera this year. Painting to me has always been therapeutic, as I love to paint in all black textured paintings because I’ve connected with the color black. Art is a way to express my emotions and feelings even if people don’t get it.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in a lot of the music I listen to, I find inspiration in the Raiders, I find inspiration in history, I find inspiration in my hometown Albuquerque, i find inspiration in my new home, Chicago, I find inspiration in being Hispanic. I find inspiration in things I find interesting. One of my biggest inspirations is my grandma, Oasis, Pierre Soulangeand Axl Rose. I also take inspiration from “Apocalypse Now” especially Dennis Hopper’s character.
What would you do with $25,000?I would probably get myself a new camera that is a full frame camera to supplement my other camera which is APS-C sensor. I would definitely would want to buy a new guitar so I can also get inspired by that. I would love to fix my 1995 Impala SS and bring it to me in Chicago. I miss driving a lot, it was a way for me to decompress and think. I would also love to buy a high quality canvas and high quality black paint in my style on it and see how it would turn out. I’m curious about that.
