I make art because it’s the only thing that makes sense to me. And CONGRATS to my fellow artists who made it into the top 20! Let’s goooooo!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Transformative expressions on paper, created with a range of materials; watercolor, oils, inks. Abstracted figures, symbols or objects in dreamscapes with pops of hyper-realism.
Where do you find inspiration?I find it the way most artists do, I look at the world and my experiences in it in such critical way that drives me so bonkers all I can do is paint about it, write about it, share it to everyone & no one at the same time. Melodramatic statements of my defunked realities I would call them. The biggest inspiration for my work is the response from the piece before. What moved people, what do they see & how the idea can grow - https://www.canditaclaytongallery.com/featured-artists/sara-larson
What would you do with $25,000?I value meetings of creative minds and believe it is essential to my growth as an artist and a professional. So if I could say anything for sure... I would host many more exhibitions for emerging artists, finish my ridiculously challenging sculpture/chandelier attempt, and buy the most beautiful paper.
