I love creating art because it heals my soul. It challenges me, pushes me, and helps me to see things differently. It reminds me who I am.

I love creating large scale intuitive, dream-like and chaotic pieces. My practice usually takes me on an abstract direction and I don’t like making the same thing twice. I also find staying away from technology to create is very important to my practice as I believe painting should be from the mind to the brush to the surface. I enjoy using mixed media and unconventional materials and tools to create my work such as floggers and flowers. I love making work that takes me on amazing adventures.
Where do you find inspiration?Much of my inspiration comes when I dream. I also love the earth and all of the beautiful things it possesses in and around it. Asian culture also has a lot of influence on my work. I use methods such as Gutai to Push new elements into some pieces creating an action vs reaction process which keeps the journey playful and helps me explore the piece. More importantly, people inspire me. I love listening to people’s stories and experiences. I love painting with the intention of someone, not myself.
What would you do with $25,000?If I receive the $25,000.00 gift it would be a blessing. I would love to donate part of the gift to veterans and sexual assault survivors of PTSD so they can get the help they need. I would also like to put the money towards some curating courses and a an exhibition space to help artists other than myself show their work. I will use what’s left to help my own practice.
