Definitely collage! I enjoy creating volume and texture—on a Barbie doll, on a canvas, book, anywhere! I’m drawn to anything I can physically touch and connect with, feeling materials under my fingers and in my palms as I shape and transform them with my hands. For me, it’s not just about how the work looks, but how it feels to create it. Each piece becomes a way of processing and releasing emotion, and the finished work holds what I couldn’t say in words.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration basically anywhere. Because I work with physical materials, it can come from things around the house, objects I come across while walking in the street, a tree, a leaf, or something someone has left out. I also go to car boot sales and look for items that speak to me. I don’t always start with a fixed idea—the object itself often guides what it will become, and I let the material lead the creative process.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in developing my sculptural practice through private, advanced sculpture and art classes, focusing on wood carving and sculptural forms, and I would also love to start exploring glass. Alongside my artistic practice, part of the funding would also support my sister’s art therapy work in Iran. I would also support pet shelters in Iran.
