I love making art because it is a way for me to balance and reflect my inner and outer worlds and invent my own beauty.

Fashion portraiture. I love the challenge of creating a character in minimal but bold fashion and pose. The tilt of the head, the position of an arm, or the silhouette of the curves can all make a lasting impression, making the viewer wanting to know more.
Where do you find inspiration? My grandfather was an illustrator for Dick Tracy, and I have always been inspired by his art. The comic has so many over-the-top, rouge, and stylish characters, which inspired me to create my own versions throughout my childhood. I grew up being exposed to soap operas, new wave music, and boundary-pushing fashion, and the allure has carried through to my adulthood. I am intrigued by the concept of style creating individual personalities while also defining eras.
What would you do with $25,000?I have a lot of ideas, but overall I would like to invest the money into creating a larger creative resource in my area, where artists could gather to learn, create, and display their art.
