Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I create mixed media art from found objects and remnants of people's pasts, transforming them into meaningful new works. My intuitive process moves between pieces as the materials suggest the direction. Each element carries a story, which I assemble into layered narratives. Texture, hidden details and discoveries invite sustained viewing, while themes of searching and reminiscence shape my practice rooted in renewal.

Where do you find inspiration?

As a child, I spent hours exploring my mother's art studio, searching for treasures in quiet, meditative moments. After she died in 2013, I Inherited the entirety of her studio- filled with beads, charms and trinkets- which now form the foundation of my own work. Using vintage and recycled materials- many from her collections, I create pieces that keep her presence with me, revisiting that same sense of childhood discovery in my own space.

What would you do with $25,000?

If I won the amazing price of $25,000, I would finally be able to open my dream community studio. This would be a space where I create my own work and lead classes for those seeking inspiration or simply a creative outlet. I believe art the most powerful form of self expression, and I aim to share it with all who seek it. By fostering a cozy, calm and welcoming space, I hope to inspire others to explore and experience the joy of creating!
