I often work with recycled/cheaper materials. I like taking something that would often be considered trash and making something beautiful.

Receive Text UpdatesWhile I received a degree in drawing and painting, I enjoy making clothing out of recycled materials. I have made dresses out of dryer sheets, plastic bags, and reusable cloth bags. I began making these after participating in an alternative materials fashion/art show (dryer sheet dress). The following year I began working at a dispensary and I noticed how much waste was produced by the plastic exit bags, which led to three more dresses.
Where do you find inspiration?I am poor so I like making art without having to spend a lot of money. When drawing and painting I try to use materials I already have or ones that are given to me. I find it ridiculous how much money I have to spend to make something considered “fine” when there is so much waste produced that can be reused and made into something more, something beautiful.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it as a down payment on a house. Ideally a house with room for me to continue to pursue the numerous, and sometimes large, ideas I have for the art I want to create and with room for my boyfriend and three cat sons.
