My favorite type of art to make depends on what is happening at the time. I love painting and sculpting, but I love to use some many types of materials it’s very hard to pick just one. But if I had to pick one, I guess I would have to say I love portraits. It’s like looking deep into a being completely isolated from everything else and portraits seem to do that very well.
Where do you find inspiration?For my Old Hollywood Collection, I looked to the glamour of yesteryears. A time when women dressed up just to go out to the store, men wear ties & hats. There was a level of class and care to one’s person. The women were beautiful and all reminded me of my elegant mother. We would watch all Hollywood movies as she put her hair in rollers for the night. Inspiration comes from deep meanings of the heart. That’s where I get my best inspiration.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the money to create a collection of portraits made in various mediums, just the way we are all made in many different shapes and sizes. I would like to use this opportunity to use mediums I haven’t used before and experiment with size and volume. The hope is to be exhibited in a well recognized gallery, even a museum.
