Life is like a song of high note and lows and all the sounds in between. This is why I love to create songs. They come as naturally as life!
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Love to write songs & lyrics to tell stories, share unique perspectives and aha moments. Also, I love to lift up important causes like caring for water, about Anishinaabe teachings to help keep our culture alive. . Learned that my favorite work is in the studio creating music after I was chosen for Banff Center for Arts and Creativity Singer/Songwriter Residency. https://sarahjaynecedars2.bandzoogle.com/home
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration comes from the beauty of nature, life experience, my family and culture, the need to raise awareness about important matters, and my Ojibwe teachings. When writing songs, i think about listeners hoping they can find inspiration through my songs. Also want to help keep out culture as this can really inspire living in balance with mother earth. Finding inspiration in life’s lessons, sometimes really tough lessons!
What would you do with $25,000?Hire a recording artist to help me produce an album for 15k or less while also fundraising. I would also hire a manager to assist me in getting my songs out there on radio stations, music platforms, and also to have assistance in booking gigs! As a teacher, working mother of 4, and caretaker of my grandmother; writing songs, recording demos, and singing on stage is as far as I have gotten. It would be amazing to hire a manager who could help me launch and take care of all these things!
