I create to slow down, make sense of the world, and share moments of beauty that might otherwise go unnoticed.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I’m naturally drawn to moody landscapes and scenes that are calm and soul-soothing. I love the way soft light and layered color can create a world that you want to step into and breathe in. I am inspired by our Earth and the peaceful, reflective nature that we so often overlook.
Where do you find inspiration?I am inspired by the quiet world we live in that so often gets missed because of the busy lives we lead. Everything is rushing us and pushing us deeper into that overcrowded isolation. My work is rooted in the invitation to slow down, to pause, and to breathe. Through layers of color and drifting fog, I create depth within small, intimate scenes that offer a moment of stillness.
What would you do with $25,000?I’d use it to create stability. I would pay off debt, build savings, and invest in my art and my son’s homeschooling. If there’s extra, we would travel and seek out meaningful inspiration that I can bring back into my work. Our family thrives outdoors and would spend intentional time together.
