Art pulls me out of my head when it’s too loud. It’s my escape, my sanity—turning chaos into something real.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is the kind that’s real first, beautiful second. I’m drawn to messy, honest moments—especially in photography. It calms me. It pulls me out of my head when everything feels too loud and turns it into something I can actually breathe through. Even the darker things still have a kind of beauty if you look at them right
Where do you find inspiration? My photography isn’t planned at all. I just go with whatever I see. If a sunset looks crazy or the light hits someone in a way that feels right, I just take the photo. It’s instinct—I don’t really think, I just do it.
What would you do with $25,000?If I won the money, I’d use it to start my photography business and actually build what I already do. I take photos constantly, especially of people when they don’t think I’m shooting—no posing, just real moments. I tell them act natural or I don’t even say I’m taking pictures. I want to show people how they really are, their body language, what’s actually there when no one is performing or paying attention.
