My favorite type of art is a painting with a surprise! This might be a painting on an object or a painting with multiple mediums. Sometimes I stick crystals on my paintings so the crystals don't have to live a sad life in a drawer. I like to dig and shed light on the occult. I believe that classical and weird belong together in an alchemical union.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere! It's in the form of a sapling that I found growing in a crack in the sidewalk and I brought it home so I could watch it grow- all triumphant and leggy. It's in my childhood seashell collection that I rediscovered. It's in fabric stores, and hardware stores, and oceans, and in the company and deeds of those around me.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to go towards a down-payment on a home. And in this home I would have an art studio and maybe even a garden. I have never lived in a place where I could paint a wall a color and not have to paint it back to white. Oh I would hang my paintings on the most marvelously colored walls!
