Creating is a lifeline. Pen and ink has so much emotion, every line and scratch. I fell for it a long time ago. It is my purest language.

I have always loved to draw. Draw what I see from life or photos I take. I found pen and ink while in college and fell for it. Specifically walnut and brown tones of ink with dip pens are my go to. The textures of lines and scratches, the patterns and tones all pull together to build an image. My favorite part is when my intuition takes over and creates fast lines and shapes. Ink and dip pens can be delicate or chaotic. I can create pure emotion on paper.
Where do you find inspiration?Usually, I draw from photography I take. I collect interesting photos constantly, to build my reference archive. Anything from people and animals to locations and fantasy. I use prompt words a lot to invoke creativity as well. My current muse is my daughter. Capturing her life journey in art has been such a blessing. She inspires me everyday with her questions, wonder and joy.
What would you do with $25,000?I have always wanted to explore art therapy. I would use the winnings for that education. Creating art gives me so much confidence, peace and contentment. I would love to be able to share this and truly help others in the process.
