What is your favorite type of art to create?

I love to create abstract paintings inspired by glimmers of nature and the natural landscape. I enjoy working with acrylic paint as it offers me a broad variety of colors and textures to work with and painting on wood panel as the material offers me a piece of nature to incorporate in my paintings. I work from my memory of specific sites I have visited and let my intuition and feelings guide me as paint. I use sharp lines and bold colors to create art with a kaleidoscopic stained-glass effect.

Where do you find inspiration?

I garner my inspiration from the beauty of the natural world around me. I grew up in "big sky" Oklahoma and was inspired by the ever changing sunsets. I viewed that big sky scenery as an expansive ever-changing painting. Now, I reside in colorful Colorado with the breathtaking landscape, beautiful terrain, and gorgeous sky which continues to inspire me. My work is heavily based on landscape sites I have visited and glimmers of nature. Additionally, music, and people in my life are influence too.

What would you do with $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to continue on my artist journey. It will enable me to buy more art supplies to create more paintings and allow me to envision future exhibitions with stronger art pieces without the stress of how to fund them. It would also allow me to update my studio space into more of a functional creative space with better lighting and work stations. All of this will allow me to produce my artwork more efficiently and allow me to be able to focus on making more beautiful art pieces.
