What is your favorite type of art to create?

Fine art drums made of clay

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in the process of creation, as a creature creator, consistently imposing my frontier identity on the subject itself. This is nativity. Drums made of earthenware become the voice of the earth. This responsibility alone I find inspirational

What would you do with $25,000?

I would fund myself to forage wild clay at each California Mission Church (there are twenty one) and make art with the parent soils of each location. Anywhere there is a Spanish built mission in California, there are metric tons of clay. There has to be to build structures of this scale. The roof tiles alone average 24 pounds each and there are thousands per building. California, from Baja all the way up to Sacramento, is on a lateral clay field. Clay is how the west was won. I would fund myself
