I am a visual artist who has recently restarted my life to face my battle with addiction, and use my art to magnify the beauty in this life.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Plato spoke of the good, the true, and the beautiful. From my simplest sketches, to my large scale designs, I seek to reflect the beauty of what it is to be human. Portraits, anatomical studies, emotive scenes and dramatic, climactic events involving the human figure. From fantasy and mythology, to raw, candid studies, I find so much beauty within the human component of each of these subjects. Realism. Portraits. The human form. Comic illustrations. Photography. Sculpture. And so much more.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from life, from experience. I have experienced enough trauma, as well as blessings throughout my life to understand that inspiration can come from the darkest, longest of places, just as fluidly as it can come from the brightest, best of times. I try to remain open to what the muse speaks, and to allow whatever that mysterious force desires to come through me with as little manipulation as possible.
What would you do with $25,000?I would invest in my studio and art business with a portion of this money, stabilize my savings and bills with another part, and finally invest the final portion of it, so that I would continue making growing future profits off of such a large blessing. Really, I feel all three of these choices are investments, both in my future, and in the ability to impact others with my art.
