Horses and people are my favorite. I like faces that have lived life. I like creating art that tells a story. IAnd it may be someone elses story. As long as my art speaks and has feeling. Narrative realism with an emotional connection. The kind of art that makes you feel. Im also reflecting a lifestyle that is rapidly changing and may disappear.
Where do you find inspiration?Im very drawn to western or the vaquero lifestyles. I find it online, western movies, western art. I find inspiration in people's faces, in the shadows and in the light. I look at their eyes. Their reflection, their mirror. When I look at someone, I'm looking at a painting that could be. It's a step out of my door. I think artist look at what is around them differently.
What would you do with $25,000?Im sure I'm supposed to say something profound, not sure if can. I would invest in myself and my art. Create a different opportunity for exposure. I already support animal related causes, the ranching and farming community. This would give me a chance to help more.
