I do not create; I am. I have become the embodiment of myself. My flesh, my eyes, my bones, my soul and my thoughts; the rest is not.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
The one I breathe like air, is when I create on paper, using graphite, oils, and paint. I do photography (Leica). I compose music. I create digital images and print them on aluminum. Also, I am gathering a group of actors for a theater play I’m writing, “A Harlequin’s Tale”, at The Naumburg Bandshell, Central Park, this summer.
Where do you find inspiration?I am not sure. I feel that I am always connected to a certain kind of source. However, society at times, becomes a channel to maneuver, manipulate, or break down emotions such as; anger, frustration, love, depression, and excitement. Reaching out and sharing, is key. Never losing grip of my surroundings in our magical Metropolis. I love classical concerts. To listen and observe other artists who are on the same quest. There are certain invisible channels where we become instantly connected.
What would you do with $25,000?I will use the $25.000 to pay a whole year in advance and rent an art studio in Bushwick, BK. or in Yonkers, N.Y. Either way, I will reach out to the poorest and most underserved areas in New York State and support their local hospitals and schools. As well as donating art supplies, musical instruments, and all kinds of art books. A 25% from the $25.000.00 USD. 100%. —Serge Miquel
