I wish to convey sentiments of everyday; moments in-between; stillness & silence; sympathy & empathy; love in a look; a life in a gesture.

My favorite type of art to create are genre scenes- Classic, timeless tropes and archetypal relationships between people places and things- Intellectual and sentimental reflections on the human condition, and our shared experiences. I like to convey in my work that meditative quality that inspired me to capture a given moment. That moment of presence and reflection, gazing at nothing in particular. A feeling. An atmosphere.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in what is simple and overlooked. I admire the quality of authenticity. I am draw to situations that are charged with a reality that is deeper than meets the eye. I find inspiration in what speaks to our shared consciousness and human experience. I also am inspired by naturally found compositions that challenge perception and our understanding of vision, and the configuration of our environments.
What would you do with $25,000?With $25,000 I would afford my materials to make more artwork in a humble studio and multiply it. I would make prints and publish a book. And I would be able to afford these lucrative ventures that would eventually enable me to bless thousands around me. The funds from this award would really help me to act on many ideas that lack of funding has halted.
