Working wood brings me peace. I feel connected to the materials and tools in almost a spiritual way. Creation makes me feel complete.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Wood furniture and home decor. Anything from tables, cabinets to wall accents. I love everything about working with the medium of wood. The texture, patterns, smell, tools all bring me a sense of peace and cause me to become immersed in the process. Time almost stops and gives me a sense of purpose.
Where do you find inspiration?Mathematics and sacred geometry are always my starting point. I find the formulas already exist in nature. Whether it is music, construction or the creation of life, basic mathematical principles create the most beautiful forms. By following these proportions things almost fabricate themselves. Also, I have aphantasia, which means my minds eye cannot visualize in pictures. I almost see in a static or numbers. Watching something come to life in its physical form brings me peace.
What would you do with $25,000?Woodworking is extremely expensive. It takes many separate tools just to construct one piece. So I would invest it into tools. Advertising and web presence are also anothor costly area.
