Art is selfless and approachable. It allows myself and others to breathe easier, feel lighter and be understood; to feel less alone.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
Abstract. The chaos and beauty within the metaphor of what could be. With abstract, I can create something that is pure and willful, macabre and dark; something open to interpretation by others and what their soul feels. Abstract art allows the mind to run free and not bend to rules or stipulations, but to feel everything all at once or to see something that only dreams can inspire.
Where do you find inspiration? In my dreams and the world as a collective. Collaborating with the connections and experiences that this world could conjure, sprouts millions of different strands of "what if I put blue here," or "what if this Rhino had wings?" The inspiration is endless; nightmares and dreams fuel the very paint or pencil strokes. I am no longer in control and I let the freedom of "what if?" inspire my hands.
What would you do with $25,000?Two thoughts come to mind: to travel and invigorate my artist perspective to see different cultures and experience the fruit of the world. Another wish is to start a local event to help other artists strive for adventure and connection; to see others learn and grow in their endeavors -- to truly show others that its never to late to try on their hopes, dreams and aspirations.
