I love capturing faces, specifically musicians with a ski twist to fit my Colorado mountain lifestyle.
Where do you find inspiration?Music and mountains! I spent years as the director of a rock n roll cancer foundation. We registered people to the national bone marrow registry at concerts and festivals. We also hike mountains all over the world with musicians. As we hiked I realized we are all just people at our core. When you throw some hiking gear and ski goggles on a famous face…would you even recognize them? It made me throw a pair of ski goggles on Jimi Hendrix and my Après Ski series was born!
What would you do with $25,000?Honestly, take a breath. As artist we are constantly creating, all day, in our sleep, even while creating we are envisioning our next creation. Last year I had a trifecta of bad luck. I broke my leg in half by sitting on a weasel (true story), then I broke my wrist, and then broke my back all within a year. I still managed to crank out almost 30 paintings (against doctors orders but I had bills to pay). I’d get off grid in my camper, let my body rest and let my dogs & my imagination run wild.
