I make 3-d fabric pieces stuffed with fiberfil. Often large-scale and abstract, my creations are colorful and embellished with buttons.

Channeling quilting, appliqué and embroidery techniques from the past, I strive to make plush forms that are unique with a contemporary twist. Each piece I make is akin to giving birth to something new presented in a space where it can be suspended, hanging on a wall or firmly grounded to the floor or on a pedestal. I like to make art that cannot be easily categorized.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration everywhere, from the utilitarian objects of man to forms in nature. My choice of color comes from an inner world of dreams and fantasy. I attribute many of my creations to my childhood in West Texas and the last thirty years I’ve lived in Florida. These locations have inspired art that’s an odd mixture of Praire dessert and the seaside.
What would you do with $25,000?I would continue in my art practice creating plush forms for gallery spaces and museums. The $25,000 would also provide travel allowance and transport of pieces to venues in Texas California and the east coast.
