What is your favorite type of art to create?

My style of art is abstract that which has no rules, guidance nor confrontations. I am totally free through colors, forms, movements and emotions to express my total self on an unspoken pristine surface. There are no mistakes because it isn’t about perfection but pure total expression. Each piece of abstract art unfolds as I continue to paint culminating with infinite surprised endings. Abstract art is an open space where there isn’t any limitations to imagination.

Where do you find inspiration?

My inspiration comes from my emotions and moods within myself. They may flow in quiet, intense or unexpected moments. I can fully experiment turning an expressionless, an untouched surface through my own thoughts, form, and movements and produce something brightly meaningful. It is a bridge between reality and the realm of an unknown result emerging like a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. Art allows me to translate my emotions into something physical for others to enjoy.

What would you do with $25,000?

If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it to bring comfort, access, and dignity to my loved ones. I would purchase an adaptive beach chair for my nonverbal special needs grandson, allowing him to experience the ocean. I would also provide soothing items for my special needs brother in palliative care to bring him peace. The remaining funds would help pay debts and purchase professional art supplies allowing me to continue creating with purpose for myself & for others to enjoy.
