Drawing on memory and mortality, my work treats time as material. Deliberate gestures and unstable forms hold tension between life and loss

I am drawn to acrylic-based abstraction and conceptual portraiture that exists between structure and collapse. The work distorts familiar forms, using fragmentation and tension to reflect internal states. I am less interested in resolution and more focused on holding a moment where meaning remains unstable yet present.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration comes from lived experience, particularly moments that disrupt certainty. Memory, trauma, mortality, and reflection shape the work. I am influenced by contrast, stillness against chaos, control against fracture, and the tension between what is felt and what can be expressed.
What would you do with $25,000?I would stabilize what needs immediate attention, then step away to travel and reset perspective. Surviving a heart attack changed how I see time and what holds value. It reinforced the importance of connection, compassion, and finding peace with one another. A portion would go toward helping others in a direct, meaningful way, as giving creates clarity that feeds back into both life and work.
