I create art to transform overlooked materials into forms that slow perception and reveal quiet movements between the temporary and lasting.

My favorite type of art are ones that I become immersed in. Installations where the art becomes part of my world and I am in it. It can be a painting, sculpture or total immersion but it has to engage my senses and my mind.
Where do you find inspiration?I’m inspired by the movement through urban environments, how layers of information, advertisement and architecture collide and overlap. Observing how materials and colors exist in public spaces often spark new ideas. Process itself is a source for inspiration. The materials I use often allow discovery of unexpected forms and shapes the outcome of the work. Finally, community and collaboration expands my perspective and reinforces the idea that art can be both personal and collective.
What would you do with $25,000?With the support of $25,000, I would expand my ongoing exploration of discarded banners into immersive, large scale installations that examine consumer culture, impermanence, and environmental responsibility. This funding would allow me to move beyond constraints of my current resources and realize a more ambitious and publicly engaged body of work. Documentation is a critical part of this project. Funds would support professional photographers to capture both the process and final installation
