What is your favorite type of art to create?

My favorite kind of art to create is acrylic painting on canvas. Each new edge, with the bend of a bristle fascinates me. Simple shapes, colors, and lines can mean so very much in different combinations. Acrylic paint layers or combines so malleably with brilliant colors on soft, smooth canvas. I currently like to explore abstract spaces that infer oasis places. These may include bold color selections with flowing geometric shapes leading to carefully balanced spaces and subjects.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in my feelings about self, others, and surroundings. Expression often becomes the process to discover those feelings. I do my best to observe the world and those around me. My art is a reflection of finding those spaces in between tangible observations. Above all, I find inspiration in the dedication to paint regularly. Through regularity of practice, feelings become an extension language of the brush. Muses spark more often in practice and the embers burn long and slow.

What would you do with $25,000?

I like painting murals and signs, so large canvases would be the most exciting purchases. Working large has been an emphasis throughout my art career. My main objective would be reinvesting in art materials to further my goals. My mentor adored oil paintings, so to restock the supplies for that medium would mean a lot to me personally, and my art projects would last so much longer with more physical integrity. I’d also join the local Makerspace again, and I would need at least one guitar.
