I love to create art based on my culture, stories told by my parents, share my paintings to the world.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art is contemporary painting through the Hopi culture. Plays an important role in my life through landscape, sunset, sunrise, Hopi women and men play a vital role, pass down the tradition to the next generation.
Where do you find inspiration?I am visually impaired and my inspiration comes from my parents and relatives who create art. I visit the Hopi reservation, brings me closer to what I learned from them especially the Hopi traditions. I feel a sense of peace, spiritual, listen to songs, and all living things around us. What I learn from them fills my heart with memories begins a new painting to create.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use the award money to support of my artist career. To be able create new idea such as tactile painting which I've had this idea for a long time. My ultimate goal is to share this to the world especially the blind community, able to touch the painting, educate, and be part of my art creation. An art studio would be great to use for the award money.
