I love seeing my subjects emerge and come to life from a blank surface whether it is the bristol board or Ampersand Scratchboard.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My passion is human and wildlife portrait on scratchboard. I love capturing the expression of my subjects as they emerge from a black surface, I delicately scratch away the thin layer of the black india ink from the surface with my xacto knife to reveal the white porcelain clay underneath. Slowly with multiple layers being removed the subject begins to come alive.
Where do you find inspiration?Growing up in New England i have always been inspired by beauty of the New England mountains and lakes as well as the quaint fishing villages such as Gloucester and Rockport. Now living in Florida i find my inspiration along the beautiful beaches and nature trails.
What would you do with $25,000?Gosh that amount of money would help not only me financially but it would allow me and my husband to travel to England to see his son (my stepson) and our Granddaughter who we have not seen since she was 7, she will be 14 this year, it would be so nice to see her and to rekindle our relationship with her.
