As a kid I enjoyed abstract, inspired by my mother and as I grew older I integrated certain aspects of her art into my own, her use of bright colours and deep contrasts, as well as sharp but flowing line work. I enjoy touching on darker subjects with the use of brighter colours and surrealism. I also enjoy replacing real life shades in realism pieces with multi colours, and bright 2D style colours.
Where do you find inspiration?Inspiration for me is something that is continuously changing, it can be a combination of colours that caught my eye and stuck with me, a peacock feather or an interesting fabric can inspire a whole piece. Growing up my inner world and real world events inspired me heavily, which also comes back in my work sometimes.
What would you do with $25,000?With 25,000 I would like to invest into our family business and move our dreams from our minds to our reality. I would also love to take a small trip with my family or do something nice with my family to start creating exciting memories for my daughter.
