My main source of inspiration derives from my love of mythology and comic book heroes. I mix both realism and abstract to create a world of contrast and textures. All of my art has a human element to invite the viewer to have emotional connection.
Where do you find inspiration?Well, I kinda answered that, but I will expand. Having been raised in both spiritual and prideful surroundings, my work reflects a strong cultural and Faith driven presence. Both draw(no pun intended) upon emotional content. The conflict between good and evil, or the similarities. I challenge the viewer to come to their own conclusions.
What would you do with $25,000?My dream is to open my own community art/gallery center. Where l can work in the center of the gallery surrounded by my art, inviting patrons to witness my work process. This would be a magnet in building relationships, make sales and commissions for custom art. In addition, rent out space for local artist at a nominal fee, and take zero commission fee for art sold. Weekends would be available for grade school students painting workshops. I’m currently looking into grants to make this happen.
