Creating is a slow walk to one's self. I create so that I can dance with mysteries. In the bloom of creation, I find my breath.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love to draw and paint and, through my recent ceramic works, translate my evolving, still clumsy, practice into ideas that materialize in my paintings. It’s in these in-between spaces of order and disorder that both the human signature and mysteries begin to emerge. These liminal spaces challenge our perceptions, inviting doubt and encouraging us to envision a world where certainty fades, allowing us to navigate the whispered winds of these mysteries.
Where do you find inspiration? In nature. My work sees the climate crisis as both a source and a seed for change—an existential threat that compels humanity to examine our innate nature and seek a path back to the natural world. I am inspired by the wisdom of the land’s Sages and their Indigenous knowledge. We need to till the conceptual landscape and plant a new seed, nurture a new crop, and cultivate a transformative way forward.
What would you do with $25,000?Build a new studio or adapt a space where I can work in closer proximity to nature, as my current studio is a non-air-conditioned garage.
