Art gives me peace and freedom to tell my story—how I endure, achieve, and love. Each piece is permanent, honest, and fully mine.

My favorite art to create is work I approach without prior experience—letting curiosity lead and discovering something powerful in the process. I enjoy experimenting across different mediums and don’t like to limit myself. While I may lean toward certain styles at times, my journey is about growth and exploration. Lately, I’ve expanded beyond canvas into wood cutouts, continuing to push my creativity in new directions.
Where do you find inspiration?I draw inspiration from my culture, family, and faith, as well as the environments that shaped me. Growing up in predominantly Black schools and later attending a historically Black college deeply influenced my perspective. My upbringing and heritage continue to guide my work, allowing me to create art that reflects my identity, experiences, and the community that helped shape who I am.
What would you do with $25,000?$25,000 would help launch a creative venture blending visual art and dance—an experience that brings both forms together in a fresh way. It would fund production, promotion, and branding, while creating opportunities for artists across disciplines. This investment would allow me to introduce something unique, expand my reach, and foster greater awareness and appreciation for art in my community.
