My purpose as an artist is to share my inner world so viewers feel understood, knowing someone else has felt what they feel too.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is deeply rooted in surrealism, inspired by artists like Dalí and Leonora Carrington. I create emotionally driven work that explores psychology, symbolism, and personal experience. My art is closely connected to how I feel and what I’m going through, whether emotionally or mentally. I often explore themes like identity, womanhood in Latin America, grief, and what it means to be an immigrant in the United States.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in my emotions, my personal experiences, and my cultural background. I grew up in Venezuela, and my Latin identity plays a big role in my work. Moving to the United States was a turning point for me it’s when I began creating art more seriously, and it deeply influenced how I see myself and the world. Music is also a big part of my process. I use it to reconnect with specific emotions or moments I want to express in my work.
What would you do with $25,000?I would also use part of the funding to begin creating a small program or space for beginners in painting and sculpture. One of my long-term goals is to teach and build a studio where young people can explore art and express themselves creatively. This opportunity would support both my personal growth and my goal of creating a space that inspires others through art.
