Connect What is your favorite type of art to create?

I have always admired and created many different styles and mediums of art. At the age of 13 I found, in art class, my passion for making abrastract pencil crayon portraits. Using prismacolours I can create my own world where equality and beauty has no boundaries. Being a younge adult who has stuggled with body dysmorphia, severe depression and detachment to reality, I see my self producing peaces that visualize such in a form of beautiful sufferance.

Where do you find inspiration?

I tend to get my inspiration from my own traumas and tragedies that are unaversally faced. To turn a human emotion into an image that can inpact others is a privilege. With a limited time in this life I truly feel the need to share my experience through my own create eye to help others understand their own stuggles are valid. I cant image a life without the ability to create, to not be able to take the human experience and turn it into something meaningful, that would not be a life for me.

What would you do with $25,000?

To receive $25,000 I would be able to attend Emly Carr and have more opportunity to pursue my dream of being an artist for a living. Having a head start to my adult life would mean the world to me and to do what I love is truly a fantasy I thought I could only ever imagine. I would also give back to my community that has always supported me through my journey of art. With out them I could never have grown to be the person or artist I am today.
