I create or paint because I cannot lie to my own soul. In the quiet longing of today, I create the hope of a better tomorrow.

My favorite types of art to create are Surrealism and Abstractionism, I am drawn to the connection between surrealism and abstraction, I combine surrealist dreams with abstract emotion, crafting symbolic mindscapes that refract reality rather than mirror it, allowing the viewer to wander through the quiet, vibrant echoes of the inner psyche. This approach allows me to move beyond realistic representation to create an irrational, emotional dialogue on the canvas.
Where do you find inspiration? My inspiration came from a sense of melancholy and a profound awareness of the self in various circumstances. The melancholy I feel is most often not one of pessimism or hopelessness, but rather one of possibility—one that allows me to creatively and critically engage with the socio-political issues that shape our lives. My work is methodologically and thematically centered on memory, exploring how personal and collective memories—and the stories we tell from them—shape our present and future.
What would you do with $25,000?I am deeply grateful and honored to receive this award. This prize will significantly advance my artistic journey, allowing me to continue producing work that highlights our unseen and unheard collective stories.
