Art to me is a way to escape the reality of this world into a place deep in my mind where all things are possible.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
My favorite type of art to create is one I discovered recently which is printmaking. It is a special kind of printmaking however that consists of drawing onto either wood or linoleum, then carving the drawing out to create essentially a stamp. To create a print, I ink the stamp, lay the paper, and run it throughout a press. Each of my prints consist of hundreds or thousands of carving strokes which is a tedious and sometimes grueling process that I enjoy every second of.
Where do you find inspiration?I am inspired by all things that grow, breathe, and create. Plants and animals are a common motif in my art as well as the divine feminine. I like to play with elements of mythology, magic, and the spiritual realm. I also take inspiration from real life and the beauty in people from all over the world that I may not know personally but am still alike, as we are all one.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use this generous prize to make more art and hopefully get to a point where I can support myself by solely being an artist. I would definitely purchase my own small printing press to have at home. Seeing people enjoy my creations is what motivates me so I would use the money to travel to different places and do art markets, meeting cool souls along the way!
