I paint to translate emotion into something tangible. My paintings look back at the viewer.

I’m drawn to the intimacy of figurative painting. I focus on contained moments where something feels withheld and the image holds a quiet sense of unease, as if something is about to be revealed but never fully is. My work centers on the tension between being seen and being known.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in things left unsaid. Body language, memory, the emotional residue people leave behind. I study Old Master paintings for their control of light and psychological depth, and I'm equally influenced by film and lived experience. My figures are composites of all the women I have ever known, loved, or just passed by on the street.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to expand the scale and ambition of my work. Larger paintings, a dedicated studio, and uninterrupted time to push the work further. It would also allow me to document the process and build a stronger archive, positioning the work for wider visibility with galleries and collectors.
