Art is where I put what I can’t carry. It turns grief, life, and love into something that can be held, seen, and felt by me and others.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I create fine line and illustrative realism tattoos, and oil paintings rooted in contrast, light against dark, softness against loss. I’m drawn to work that means something: memorial pieces, symbolism, and deeply personal designs. Since losing my husband, my art has shifted. It’s no longer just about beauty, it’s about truth. I create pieces that hold memory, love, and survival. Art that lets people carry what they’ve lost, without losing it completely.
Where do you find inspiration? In the quiet aftermath of things. In grief, in love, in the weight of continuing on when life changes overnight. I find inspiration in my daughter, watching her still find joy in a world that’s been reshaped by loss. I find it in human connection, in resilience, in the stories people trust me to tell on their skin. My work is inspired by the moments that break us open, and the strength it takes to rebuild.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to build something stable and lasting for my daughter and I. After losing my husband, I became both parent and provider overnight. This would allow me to invest in my studio, expand my art, and create more opportunities to do meaningful work, especially pieces centered around memory and healing. It wouldn’t just support my business, it would help me turn one of the hardest chapters of my life into something that continues to give back.
