I have been creating art since I was five years old so it is the only constant in my life and I truly love making art, it is a part of me
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love expressing myself through several mediums because I am a highly creative person. However, painting is what I love the most and I work in series and do not really favor some themes more than others. If I had to choose I enjoy doing paintings or portraits of love ones, parents, my kids, my wife and get so much pleasure from doing those. Having said that voicing my views thought political art comes in second and doing non representational art third. Actually I love all of it.
Where do you find inspiration?Living and past artists that make art well into their 80's and 90's and beyond inspire me because I see myself also painting until I die. The beauty of my daughters and my wife inspire me to paint them, the beauty of women also inspired me. Turning old family pictures into contemporary paintings also inspire me and finally injustices, totalitarianism, racism, dictatorships, discrimination inspire me to create political artwork and resist through the art that I produce
What would you do with $25,000?The money will mostly help me rent a proper art studio. However, I have applied for free studio for a year so if I do get that studio then the money will go to buy canvases, varnish, matte medium, brushes, paint, masking tape and other art supplies. I might also buy a small covered trailer that I can pull with my Jeep Wrangler to deliver art to exhibitions and save money on trailer and truck rentals. Finally, framing is expensive so I will be able to frame many of my paintings.
