I create art that reflects the human cultures and experiences. My work is a way of interpreting and honoring different perspectives.
You decide who will appear in Artforum Magazine, take home $25,000, and display their work at The Art of Elysium's Salon!
I love 3 dimensional work, but I enjoy working in glass the most. I have been fortunate to be able to attend classes to expand my glass knowledge as well as returning to collage for my sculpture BFA. To be honest, creating is my happy place.
Where do you find inspiration?I find my inspiration from nature. I was raise on a ranch in north central Texas, and I spent all my time outdoors. The wildlife and big Texas skies have always inspired me. I’m also very interested in interpreting current anthropological journal content to art. I journal my thoughts until a solid idea forms, then I start on how to produce the work in a meaningful way.
What would you do with $25,000?I would donate $5,000 to my local art league to assist funding art workshops for our local community. I would also donate $1,000 to the art league scholarship for our talented high school students. With the remaining funds I would purchase a larger glass kiln to make big pate de verre sculptures, and the remaining funds would be used for additional classes at the Corning studios or Pilchuck.
