My favorite art is experiential. I’m not just painting or photographing a scene; I’m inviting you to live in it for a while, to get lost in the details until you forget you're standing in a gallery or looking at a screen. I want to build a space where the air feels different the moment you look at it.
Where do you find inspiration?I find inspiration in the tactile intimacy of my surroundings. I’m inspired by the texture of a subject’s skin, the weave of a fabric, or the way light wraps around an object to define its shape. When I’m creating, I want to capture the "breath" of the scene. If I can translate that heavy, expectant silence onto the canvas or into the frame, I’ve succeeded.
What would you do with $25,000?I would use it to buy new supplies, a new lens so I can get even closer to the macro details of this world, and donate some to the local community art studio to benefit other local artists.
